Advent of Adoration

O come let us Adore Him! The Lord be with you.

I have had the privilege of attending three school prize giving's this last week. At Umhlali Preparatory we as All Souls give a prize to the Grade 7 each year that consistently shows good character. I was honored to be able to present Grace Brauteseth with the award.

I love Preschool Year End Nativity plays and Prizegiving's. The Little Elephants School and St David's Diocesan School in Greytown did not disappoint. St David's, which is Grade 1 to Grade 7 as of 2026 Grade R to 7 showed the quality of education that our Diocesan schools offer.

God be praised for the lives that are changed by our Diocesan Schools.

Our Senior's Christmas Lunch was a well-organized and wonderful occasion. A huge thank you to the team for the delicious lunch and wonderful atmosphere. It is a blessing to be able to fellowship with one another.

In this season of Advent as we journey towards the manger and seeking the newness of Christ, may we find the transformation that the Incarnation brings. For if Christ is with us then we can move from anxiety, about our lives and what will happen, to anticipation of the fulfilment of God's plan in and for the world. We can be assured thatin the same areas where we are disillusioned because of wars and rumors of war and of challenges in our daily lives, that we can have expectation of a new Jerusalem, a transformation of our lives that enables us to experience light in the darkness, and that where we are impatient, we will be transformed into a people of waiting. Waiting, that results from trust in God and contentment with life. This can only be achieved when we are willing to embrace life with all its complexities and not want Christianity to be our ticket out of the world, but our purpose for being in the world.

This is what Jesus did at Christmas He transformed our lives by being part of them, not seeking to escape life, but transform it.

May Advent be for you a time of ...

anticipation and adoration.

A time of love, hope, peace and joy.

May the word of God be a lamp unto your feet a star to guide you, and may the Love of God fill your hearts to overflowing.

Advent blessings
