Our King and Savior draws near.

As we begin the new liturgical year I am reminded of our glorious inheritance of faith and our need to deepen our understanding of it.

In a time when tradition is seen as unnecessary and out dated, we are blessed to experience how being anchored and rooted in the wisdom of the ages, assists us to confidently face the present and future. We join the faithful of every generation and learn from them and embrace our part of the great story of God and His people.

Advent is a season in which we joyfully await adeeper experience of that which already is reality. Jesus in the world. Like the dawn which brings newness every day, The revelation of the Christ who is, who was, and who is to come.

At night things don't disappear, they just can't be seen; so does sin, busyness and distraction. These things don't remove Christ from our lives, but just prevent us from seeing Him. Therefore we must give ourselves to the task of seeking the illuminating light of worship and fellowship and scripture that draws us into His light.

May this Advent be a true journey of anticipation of the newness of life that God offers as Jesus comes into the world, and takes His place in a manger, so that we might have a home in heaven.

A blessed Advent to you all.
