Grace and peace.
As we enter November and look back on what we have achieved this year, it is so good to see that we have grown as a Parish and continue to find joy in serving Christ in this place.
We had a wonderful Patronal Festival last weekend and on Thursday 13th at the 08h30 Eucharist we will commemorate Remembrance Day. These are both important days on our Calendar. The Parish is named in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Great Wars.
We continue to pray for peace throughout the world in these troubled times. Once again I remind us that the way that we bring about peace is through being peace makers in our own context. Always seeking to find ways to work across divides and listen to the marginalized and challenge the abuse of power. We always look for the third way, never taking sides and adopting the ''against approach" but always the mediating, seeking to understand and working for reconciliation.
I am grateful that there has already been response to the Bishop's appeal for funding of Theologicalstudents. I do encourage additional efforts to rise funds for this cause. I remind us too that we are raising money for a Christmas gift for the staff.
Most of all, let us be confident in our salvation through Jesus Christ, and our inheritance of faith, we are God's people and He is on the throne.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
PHIL.4.6-7.NIV
Peace and all good.
